ANNA GLOWACKI – HEAD COSTUME DESIGNER

Born to Polish immigrant parents in Chicago, Anna G. was called to the life of an artist. At age seven, she decided to be a clothing designer.

She attended the International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. She was a recipient of the Richard Driehaus Award for Fashion Excellence in 2004. She was also one of five winners of the General Motors 2004 Design Contest for her costume inspired by the Cadillac XLR.

Although her degree gave her superb technical clothing-making skills, she soon grew restless of the fashion design field. As her designs became more unconventional, she realized her need for telling artistic stories through her designs. Her focus switched to costume design.

For over 18, her clients have included event planners, dancers, actors, mimes, stilt walkers, wrestlers, cosplayers, burlesque performers, and musicians. She was the Resident Costume Designer of The Midnight Circus for many years.

It was during her 11 years as the Costume Shop Manager of Redmoon Theater, that she developed a special love for the event entertainment field. She designed, coordinated, and created various costumes for their special events department. She was soon in demand to design for other events with various companies. She became the Head Costume Designer and Creative Partner at NewMoon Chicago.

Anna G prides herself on her strong reputation for taking on challenging conceptual designs with her unique style.
